Rainbow Routes Network - the Rainbow Routes are a colour-coded network of buses operating on average every 15-20 minutes between Aylesbury town centre and the estates surrounding the town. silver rider 1 , route 2 , orangeroute 3 , greenroute 4 , route 5 , water rider 6 , Pinkroute 8 , Redroute 9 and route 11 .

Travel by Train

A frequent service operates between London Marylebone and Aylesbury Station, stopping at several locations along the way including Harrow-on-the Hill and Amersham.

Approximate journey time is 65 minutes with some journeys continuing to Aylesbury Vale Parkway.

Trains also operate to Princes Risborough where you can connect with services to/from High Wycombe, Bicester North and Birmingham.

Travel by Bike

The Ruby cycle route is part of the Gemstone Cycle Network in Aylesbury and it passes along Gatehouse Road, near Alton House.

From north/north west via M40 – leave the M40 at junction 9 and follow signs for Bicester, and then Aylesbury (A41) ...


From M25 north – leave the M25 at junction 20 and follow signs for Aylesbury (A41) ...


From M25 south – at junction 16 of the M25, take the M40 (west) for approx. 4 miles, then leave the M40 at junction 2 and follow signs for Beaconsfield (A355) and then Aylesbury (A413) ...


From A34 south – a more straightforward route is to head north on the A34, past Oxford, to Bicester and then follow signs for Aylesbury (A41) ...


From M1/Milton Keynes – leave the M1 motorway at junction 14, follow signs for Milton Keynes/Leighton Buzzard (A4146), then Aylesbury (A418) ...


From M5/M4 – leave the M4 near Swindon and follow the A419, then A420 towards Oxford. As you near Oxford, take the A34 northwards to Bicester and then follow the A41 to Aylesbury ...
