Borehamwood is surrounded by stretches of attractive Green Belt countryside which separate it from the nearby towns and villages of Elstree, Bushey, Radlett and Shenley. The town centre provides local shopping facilities as well as jobs in light industry, offices and shops. The film industry is a major factor for the area. Borehamwood has been dubbed the ‘British Hollywood’ with the film industry playing a leading role in the development of the town, providing employment and laying the foundations for economic growth.

Travel by Bus

A number of bus routes serve Borehamwood, linking it to neighbouring towns and villages. Many of the bus routes serve the stops adjacent to the site.

Route 107 from Edgware to New Barnet has a 15 minute frequency and route 306 to Watford has a 20 minute frequency, both serve the stops adjacent to 96 Shenley Road.

Oyster cards are accepted on both the 107 and 292 routes.

Real-time passenger information is now available across the county, showing when buses will actually arrive, on an electronic display at bus stops, online and via smart phones.

All bus stops have a QR code and a NFC chip which can be used to download bus stop-specific and real-time information.

The Intalink website gives you access to real-time information and journey planning on the move. A mobile friendly version of the website will be launched soon.

Travel by Train

Borehamwood has one railway station providing direct services between London St Pancras to the south and Luton to the north.

Elstree & Borehamwood station is located at the west end of the High Street which is around a 7 minute walk from 96 Shenley Road.

The line operates a 15 minute frequency during the day to London. Stations include Mill Hill Broadway, Hendon, Cricklewood, West Hampstead Thameslink, Kentish Town and London St Pancras. Bikes can be carried but restrictions do apply at peak times on routes to and from London.

This route is ideal for people travelling to/from locations to the north of Borehamwood. There are four trains an hour. Stations served include Radlett, St Albans, Harpenden and Luton. Journeys to Bedford are possible by changing trains at Luton or St Albans City stations.

Elstree & Borehamwood station is in London Fare Zone 6, therefore all trains heading into London accept Oyster Cards. The London bus routes 107 and 292 which both stop at the railway station also accept Oyster Cards.

Travel by Bike

Herts Year Of Cycling

Cycling is great exercise, saves money and helps the environment.

There are traffic-free cycle routes in and around Borehamwood, including the London Colney to Borehamwood loop cycle route via Radlett and Shenley.

To travel to and from Barnet, there is a cycle and horse friendly bridge over the A1 providing an easy crossing and linking to the cycle route along side the A1 that runs to Mill Hill and South Mimms.
